Real Italian Gelato Ice Cream

Real Italian Gelato Ice Cream

From time to time whenever I go out to run errands or just hangout, I check the area for dessert spots. Recently I found a real Italian gelato ice cream shop at the mall, which was definitely blog worthy.

My journey to gelato land began on a trip to the mall to pick up a few things, since my wedding anniversary is coming up and I need to be chic. Which by the way I’m excited for, because it’s only year two! By the way, here’s a fun and weird fact; second year anniversary gift is cotton. Of course we decided to totally skip that though, because, weird. However, I’m looking forward to us spending quality time together.

Now that I’ve found my outfits and accessories, I was ready to reward myself with some much needed gelato. Notably gelato is like ice cream, but made in an Italian style. Significantly gelato has less fat, it’s thicker; it’s made at a slower speed than ice cream plus gelato is chilled at a warmer temperature than ice cream.

Stefano Versace’s gelato wasn’t any ordinary gelato.  No ma’am, this was top shelf quality, with some flavors infused with liquor! First of all, they have freshly made gelato daily, which is the custom in Italy. Additionally Stefano’s gelato has natural organic ingredients and is water based, so all you non-dairy lovers can certainly try it!

The location at the King of Prussia mall, was small, but it had quite a few flavors to choose from. Despite the fact that they only offer one liquor infused flavor, I was still excited to eat some gelato. However their other locations do have a few special flavors to choose from. I chose whiskey cream, which is Bailey’s Irish Cream, I also went with coconut.

Finally, it was time for the taste test. You could actually taste the flavor of the liquor in the whiskey cream, which was smooth and creamy, pun intended. Coconut was my absolute favorite though, because I just love everything coconut. Plus since it’s all natural you could taste bits and pieces of coconut shreds in the gelato.

To sum up, I give Stefano’s gelato two enthusiastic thumbs up. One for natural organic ingredients and another for flavorful gelato, oh and for great customer service!

Choose a side gelato or ice cream?

Have a fantabulous day, Love Atalee.
