Hello honey! When it comes to color, my mom’s favorite line is “there’s something about yellow,” due to the fact that seven out of ten times she’ll end up choosing it, because it is her favorite color. While it may not be my favorite color, I do appreciate the sense of happiness it invokes, and furthermore it just pops against that melanin!
Let’s rewind a bit shall we?
April was my birthday month and girl did I celebrate! Bae and I took a rather fabulous vacation to the Caribbean…more on that later.
Normally I would plan a nice dinner at a restaurant I haven’t tried as yet and send cute invites (3-4 weeks in advance) to my family and friends to attend and celebrate with me. I wasn’t able to do so this year, however I’m the girl who celebrates her birthday all month, so along with the annual bday gift list, a cute invite to brunch was sent out.
Vacation time ended (boo) and I’m back home. Naturally, I needed to find an outfit that says “It’s STILL Aries season!”. First of all, I am an avid online shopper and when I do go to the store, I don’t even try anything on, rather I do a grab and go. Therefore my search starts at my favorite clothing brands’ website.
While on my search it now seems like maybe an hour or so has gone by from browsing and boom, just like that I’ve struck gold, well in this case, yellow. This is the dress! It’s feminine ruffles, the silhouette, the length, the split and especially relevant the color were perfect. I knew it was the one, hence I didn’t hesitate to “add to cart” and do an instant checkout. On mail day, I tried it on and noticed how well made this dress was and how well it fitted, totally money well spent to say the least.
Finally brunch day came around and funny enough half of my honeys (including my mom) were either wearing something yellow or something green and it was perfect, because yellow is definitely in this season and I’ll be rocking it every chance that I get this spring/summer.
Initially I was going to wear yellow heels with this look, but I didn’t want anything to take away from the beauty of the dress, so I chose these nude heels from Aldo and went with nude lips.
This is certainly a color I urge you to try this season.
In conclusion, while you may wear yellow as a print, you can pretty much wear it with a mix of other colors, like white to tone it down or to spice things up, you probably could incorporate some red!
P.S. Most noteworthy, I even got to eat some yummy desserts which ‘matcha’ the look. Check it out!
What are your thoughts loves, will you be rocking yellow this season?
If so, let me know how you’ll be styling your look.
We’ll catch up later. Have a fantabulous day, Love Atalee.
